Plasma-Activated Water: Physicochemical Properties, Generation Techniques, and Applications

نویسندگان

چکیده

Plasma-activated water (PAW) is that has been treated with atmospheric pressure plasma. Due to the presence of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS), PAW can be used in various applications such as (1) surface disinfection food decontamination, (2) enhancement seed germination, (3) cooling nucleate boiling regime. Briefly, for disinfection, induce oxidative stress on microbes; trigger germination provide nutrients; cooling, cause a reduction tension PAW, facilitating phase-change heat transfer and, quite unexpectedly, minimizing oxidation. Here, we review physicochemical properties three commonly techniques (plasma jet, dielectric barrier discharge, corona discharge) generating plasma, use above applications. In particular, recent development miniaturization plasma generator integrated an acoustic neutralizer produce plasma-activated aerosols, elimination need storage, interesting lead enhancement.

Bactericidal Effects against S. aureus and Physicochemical Properties of Plasma Activated Water stored at different temperatures

Water activated by non-thermal plasma creates an acidified solution containing reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, known as plasma-activated water (PAW). The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of different storage temperatures (25 °C, 4 °C, -20 °C, -80 °C) on bactericidal activities against S. aureus and physicochemical properties of PAW up to 30 days. Interestingly, PAW s...

Physicochemical Properties of Low Transition Temperature Mixtures in Water

A new generation of designer solvents, low transition temperature mixtures (LTTMs) could be the ideal solvent for the separation of the main biopolymers in lignocellulosic biomass such as lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose. The separated biopolymers have prospective to be converted into high valuable products. LTTMs can be synthesized from two natural high melting point materials through hydro...

Platelet-rich Plasma: Properties and Clinical Applications

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous product derived from whole blood through the process of gradient density centrifugation. Autologous PRP has been shown to be safe and effective in promoting the natural processes of wound healing, soft tissue reconstruction, and bone reconstruction and augmentation. The potential value of PRP lies in its ability to incorporate high concentrations of p...
